In short

Decide first who files your taxes: if you do, a program that invoices under Veri*Factu and calculates your returns is enough; if not, compare only those with a team that files for you. Below is each program with the price its website showed on 05/11/2026.

On this page

There are dozens of invoicing programs for autónomos (self-employed workers in Spain) and almost all of them promise the same thing. This guide does not rank them from best to worst, because the best one depends on what you need. It starts with what the law asks of you and your software, moves on to what actually saves you work and ends with a short profile of each program, with the price its own website shows.

We checked every price on this page on each company's own website on 05/11/2026. Where we could not read the pricing page, we give no price and link to our review of that program instead. Prices change often and many sites show temporary offers: check them before you sign up.

What an autónomo really needs from their software

Complete, correctly numbered invoices

First, every invoice must carry what the invoicing regulation requires: number and series in an unbroken sequence, date, your details and your client's with their tax numbers (NIF) and addresses, description, taxable base, IVA (Spanish VAT) rate and amount and, where it applies, the income tax (IRPF) withholding (article 6 of Real Decreto 1619/2012). Any serious program does this. What differs is how easy it is to get the IVA and withholding right in each case. If you are unsure, start with how to invoice as an autónomo.

Veri*Factu

Real Decreto 1007/2023 requires the software you invoice with to create, for each invoice, a record that cannot be deleted or altered. The invoice also carries a QR code. The software maker must certify this with a responsible declaration (declaración responsable) visible in the program itself (article 13 of the regulation). There are two ways to comply: send each record to the Agencia Tributaria (the tax agency) as it happens, which the rules call a verifiable invoicing system or VERI*FACTU (article 16), or keep the records in the program with an electronic signature and the regulation's other safeguards. Both are legal.

The dates in force today, according to the BOE (the official gazette), are 01/01/2027 for Corporate Tax payers and 01/07/2027 for autónomos (final provision four of Real Decreto 1007/2023, as worded by Real Decreto-ley 15/2025). Hacienda announced on 05/10/2026 that it wants to delay it to October 2028; as of 05/11/2026 the change has not been published in the BOE. We explain it in Verifactu's delay to October 2028 and in Verifactu-compliant invoicing.

What to ask any program: that it publishes its responsible declaration and tells you whether it sends records to Hacienda and whether that is your choice.

Your taxes: the modelos

Invoicing is half the job. The other half is the quarterly tax returns (modelos): modelo 303 for IVA, modelo 130 for income tax (unless at least 70% of your income has tax withheld) and modelo 111 or 115 if you pay professionals or rent premises. Then each year, modelo 390 and your income tax return. A good program calculates those returns from your invoices and expenses and leaves the file ready to submit. What an autónomo pays and when is in autónomo taxes in Spain.

Expenses and record books

As an autónomo under direct assessment you must keep record books (libros registro) of income, expenses and capital assets (article 68 of the IRPF Regulation). If the program does not capture your expenses, your returns come out wrong: you overpay or you have to add them by hand. Look at how each expense gets in: from a photo of the receipt, by forwarding the invoice email or from the bank. What you can deduct is in how to deduct expenses as an autónomo.

Bank

A bank connection tells you which invoices have been paid and which expenses you have not recorded yet. It is not required, but it is what saves the most time day to day.

Who files your taxes

This is the question that separates programs most. No law requires you to have someone file for you: you can file your returns yourself. Some programs leave the return calculated and you file it. Others include a team that files for you and cost more. Decide first which you want, then compare only within that group.

Three kinds of program

  • Invoicing and bookkeeping software for autónomos. Invoices, expenses, calculated returns. You file, or you pass them to your gestor (tax adviser). Usually the cheapest.
  • Business management software or ERP. Besides invoicing, it handles stock, projects, CRM or staff. It makes sense when your business has stock or employees. For a service autónomo it is usually more than needed.
  • Software with a team that files for you. Software plus people who file your returns. They cost more each month and take the filing off your plate.

Program by program, with prices as of 05/11/2026

Prices are those on each company's official page that day. We say whether the page states that IVA is included or not. Each profile links to our longer review.

Holded

A full business management program: invoicing, accounting and modules for teams and stock. On its pricing page, the tab for autónomos has a free Light plan with Verifactu limited to 20 invoices a year and a Starter plan at €19 a month excluding IVA, with a temporary offer on the day we checked. The page says all plans include Verifactu. More in Holded pricing, our Holded review and alternatives to Holded.

Quipu

Invoicing and bookkeeping for autónomos and small businesses. Its Starter plan costs €17 a month on monthly billing, with an offer for the first three months, or €168 a year on annual billing; the page does not say whether these prices include IVA. All its plans say they are adapted to Verifactu. It also offers an optional tax-adviser service that files quarterly and annual returns, from €80. We cover it in Quipu pricing and our Quipu review.

Anfix

Invoicing and bookkeeping with draft tax returns. The Básico plan costs €5,99 a month on monthly billing or €4,99 a month on annual billing. The Avanzado plan costs €14,99 or €12,49. The page says prices do not include taxes. According to its website, all plans include Veri*Factu. More in Anfix pricing and our Anfix review.

Billin

A simple invoicing tool. The Básico plan costs €8 a month + IVA on monthly billing or €6,60 a month + IVA on annual billing. The Pro plan costs €17 a month + IVA on monthly billing. According to its website, all plans include Verifactu, Facturae and TicketBAI e-invoices. Its pricing page does not include tax filing: it talks about giving your gestor access. We look at it in Billin pricing and our Billin review.

Contasimple

Bookkeeping for autónomos with a permanent free plan. The Profesional plan costs €12,95 a month on quarterly billing or €10,95 a month on annual billing, excluding IVA; there is no monthly billing. Its pricing page does not mention Verifactu in the plans, although the site links to a Verifactu responsible declaration. More in Contasimple pricing and our Contasimple review.

FacturaDirecta

Online invoicing with a free plan and calculated tax agency returns. The Bronce plan costs €15 a month on monthly billing or €12 a month on annual billing, excluding IVA. The page says all plans include VeriFactu. We review it in FacturaDirecta pricing.

Factusol

The invoicing and business management program from Software DELSOL. Its page says it complies with VERI*FACTU, TicketBAI and SII. We could not confirm the price: the site loads it from the shopping cart and does not show it on the page. See Factusol pricing.

Sage 50

Accounting and invoicing software for small businesses. Its website did not let us read the pricing page, so we give no figure. Our review is in Sage 50 pricing.

Odoo

A modular ERP: you pick the apps you need. It has a free plan for a single app. The Estándar plan costs €14,80 per user per month on monthly billing or €11,90 on annual billing, with a discount the page says is valid for 12 months; the page does not say whether prices include IVA. Its pricing page does not mention Verifactu. More in Odoo pricing and our Odoo review.

Declarando

Software with tax advice. Its plans are billed annually and come in two versions. Where your usual gestor files, from €29,90 a month + IVA. Where you file with Declarando, with help from its tax experts, from €49,90 a month + IVA; the Premium plan adds the income tax return filed by them. We review it in our Declarando review.

Renn

Invoicing and bookkeeping with a free plan, Copilot, meant for people who keep their own gestor. The Autopilot plans include quarterly and annual tax filing by its team and start at €50 a month + IVA on monthly billing or €40 a month on annual billing. Its page marks Verifactu-compliant invoices on every plan. More in our Renn review.

Xolo

Software with a tax-adviser service. The Lite plan costs €15 a month + IVA and does not include tax filing. The Local plan, which does include quarterly and annual filing, costs €39 a month + IVA. Billing is monthly only. Every plan lists VeriFactu invoicing. We look at it in our Xolo review.

Taxfix (formerly TaxScouts)

An online tax adviser for autónomos. Its page says every pack includes filing of quarterly and annual returns and a Verifactu-compatible invoicing program. Two of its official pages showed different prices for the same pack on the day we checked, so we give no figure. The comparison is in Facturaz vs TaxScouts (now Taxfix).

How to choose in five questions

  1. Do you want to file your taxes yourself? If not, rule out programs with nobody to file for you and compare only those that have someone.
  2. Does the program calculate your returns or only invoice? An invoicing tool that does not calculate modelos 303 and 130 leaves you half the work.
  3. How do your expenses get in? Try it with three real receipts during the free trial.
  4. Does it publish its Verifactu responsible declaration? And if it sends records to Hacienda, is that your choice?
  5. What do you pay per year including IVA? Multiply, add IVA if the price excludes it and check what happens when the offer ends.

Switching program mid-year

You can switch at any time. Two things you must not lose: your invoice numbering, which must stay in sequence within each series (article 6.1.a of Real Decreto 1619/2012). And your books for the year, because the quarterly returns and the income tax return are calculated on the whole year. Before you cancel the old program, download your invoices, your expenses and the returns you have already filed.

And Facturaz

Facturaz is our own program, so we keep it separate. There are two plans with the same app: Autónomo Go, €24 + IVA a month, where Facturaz calculates each return (303, 390, 130, 111, 115, 180, 190, 347 and 349) with the file ready and a step-by-step guide so you file it yourself; and Autónomo Plus, €44 + IVA a month, where our team files your returns and your income tax return. Paying yearly gives you two months free. Both include unlimited Verifactu-compliant invoices, receipts read by AI from a photo, bank reconciliation and the iPhone app. Sending records to Hacienda is off by default and you turn it on if you want. If you are coming from another program, a gestoría or Excel, migration is included and your numbering carries on: see migrating to Facturaz and switching from a gestor or Excel to Facturaz. The plans, with a 14-day free trial, are on pricing for autónomos.
